Setup Apple Pay
The Following Steps are completed by SoftPoint on behalf of our client. Details on what will be required by the client to enable this feature is included in the "Client Responsibility" folder under Set Up Apple Pay
In order to continue, an Apple Developer Account must be created: https://developer.apple.com/
Generate Merchant ID
- Go to: https://developer.apple.com/ > Certificates > Identifiers
- Click on “New” or “Add”
- Select “Merchant IDs”
- Add Description
- Add Identifier (i.e., com.domainname.appname)
- Click on Continue
- Click on Register
Create an Apple Pay Payment Processing Certificate
Step 1: Generating a certificate signing request (CSR)
- Log in to your Cybersource merchant account in the Business Center.
- Production: https://businesscenter.cybersource.com
- Production in India: https://businesscenter.in.cybersource.in.com
- In the left navigation panel, select Payment Configuration
- Choose Digital Payment Solutions. The Digital Payment Solutions page appears.
- Click Configure for Apple Pay.
- Enter the Apple merchant ID that you created and registered in your Apple Developer account.
- Click Generate new certificate signing request.
- Click the download icon next to the key
- Download the certificate request file (a file with a .certSigningRequest file extension) to your local machine.
- Use your browser controls to save the file to your local machine.
Step 2: Using the CSR to create an Apple Pay payment processing certificate
- Sign in to your Apple Developer account as the Account Holder or as an Admin and select Certificates, Identifiers & Profiles.
- Upload the CSR file and associate the CSR with your merchant ID.
- Click Identifiers in the sidebar.
- Select Merchant IDs using the filter on the top right.
- On the right, select your merchant ID. If a banner at the top of the page prompts you, you need to accept an agreement. Click Review Agreement and follow the instructions that appear.
- Under Apple Pay Payment Processing Certificate, click Create Certificate.
- Create a payment processing certificate and download the certificate to your local machine.
- Click Choose File and select the CSR file that you uploaded. The CSR file has the filename extension .certSigningRequest.
- Click Choose
- Click Continue
- Click Download. The payment processing certificate (a file with the filename extension .cert) appears in your Downloads folder.
